The hobby just has a community I’ve never seen elsewhere. Such healthy competition and drive in everyone I’ve competed with makes it the ideal hobby for competing and just enjoying the thrill of flying.

My main concern is these restrictions will completely shut down the FPV hobby. I think there should be a distinction made between consumer drones bought by the vast majority of the public and those kit built drones that are assembled from scratch.
There’s nothing in the proposed rules that will make the hobby safer, they’re only designed to kill it. The government can’t come out and outright ban r/c flight so it’s going to slowly squeeze it to death. Laser pens present more of a danger to aircraft than model a/c do but there’s not a proposal
