I got hooked through my wife’s cousin’s husband. He scratch build high performance gliders and took me out to Torrey Pines (before the restrictions). I have scratch built balsa models, both gliders and electric plans. For me it is so much fun to build and fly, it is truly the greatest hobby. I have flown

Much like the original innovators of flight, I like to fly freely like the birds. Being restricted to a postage stamp to fly would be like putting all the birds in a cage, or requiring all non-commercial drivers to drive their cars only in parking lots. There is a BIG SKY out there, and we

I started learning about the model aviation hobby when I was in grade 4 in elementary school (I’m 51 now). Over the years my love of everything flight drove me to seek a technology based career earning a Bachelor of Engineering degree. I fly small, medium and moderately large RC helicopters, 250-700 scale. They are not FPV helicopters but in fact 3d sport helis that are 100% manual flight control line of site. I still don’t understand why helicopters and fixed wing planes are thrown into a “drone” multi rotor category. Space and weight is a HUGE
