“There is great personal accomplishment and growth that comes with building, learning, and flying drones. Flying really motivates me to get outside and explore, and connect with like minded individuals who love to share the thrill of flight. Remote ID will kill this for me, even though I do not do anything wrong. It will add more costs and complexity for law abiding citizens. It will not increase safety, as those who want to break the law will simply build drones that don’t use Remote ID. And the privacy concerns will be stressful. I’ll have to worry that someone who ignorantly hates drones, or wants to steal from me will get my data, find my location, and harass me. I will likely have to quit the entire hobby if the rules pass as they stand today.”
