“The educational impact of flying/building model aircraft is huge. Countless aviators, astronauts, designers, engineers all got their start in their youth with model aviation. We should be ENcouraging this hobby, not trying to kill it. Those of us who have been involved for years understand and comply with safety. It’s our motto. The AMA has demonstrated the ability to govern their own. Our safety record is impeccable. Why break what is not broken? Address concerns to those who are not members of a CBO. Require all pilots to “Know Before You Fly” and encourage them to join the AMA or similar organization.”
