“I have been involved in model aviation for over 55 years. I developed this interest from my father who became involved in model aviation after he proudly served in the Army Air Corps at a US airfield in the Philippines during World War 2. I own over 30 model aircraft and I have been a member of my local model airplane club for over 35 years. We fly from a club owned site that has been in operation for over 50 years at the same location and there has never been an incident at our field during its entire existence. In years past several of our members were World War 2 bomber pilots one of which was shot down in Europe and was a POW during the war. Their passion for aviation was inspiring. Several of our younger members have developed lifelong careers in military and civil aviation.To many in my club model aviation is is more than a hobby it is a passion and for many of us who are retired it is way of life flying as much as we can.”
