“I started my rc hobby when I was 50 years old I am now 65. I live in a very rural area in the northern neck of Va. I fly on a friends farm which has many feilds one being 500+ acres which is my favorite. Over the years i have built and bought many aircraft helis, fixed wing, and quads totaling to more than 30 aircraft. I am a member of AMA but the closes flying feild is 1 1/2 hrs. from my house which is very impratical for me to go to. I am also a competion judge for AUVSI which is an international UAV competion held at Patuxtant Naval Air base in June. This competion started in 2002. The innovation that these students bring to the UAV industry is incrediable. With all of this being said if these regulations go in effect as written I could not afford to bring all of my aircraft into compliance. Being that we are so rural our cell service is very sketchy. Also I feel that a lot of future technolgy will be lost due to people not being able to get into the hobby due to these very burdensome regulations. I only hope the FAA uses comon sense and sees there are many different avenues weather it is a hobbiest or commercial application.
