“Although, Remote ID is a good Idea for large commercial drones carrying payloads and operating non line of sight or autonomously, I do not agree that my three LB (my largest) foam model aircraft or one of my camera drones should be regulated. Most of the model aircraft I fly are made, basically, of beer cooler foam and pose no threat to public safety. In fact in 100 years of model aviation as far as I know, no one has been hurt more than a couple stitches. those injuries were because they got their fingers where they didn’t belong. Privacy is also an issue. there have been people who have been attacked for flying their model aircraft and drones. With anyone being able to see my information, the chance of someone coming to my home after the fact and endangering my family is greatly increased. Web based RID is also an issue. the cost of retrofitting and monthly subscription costs for 15 plus models could cause me to completely give up the hobby or simply not comply.”
