“I am an engineer in a large part due to my fun and educational experience with the r/c hobby. Since my youth these hobbies have already been in decline due to the time and skills required, but it is the cultivation of these skills that are critical to future generations of scientists and engineers. Restricting this critical hobby will further hamstring our nation’s critical supply of citizens who are able to support and contribute to its long term success and safety. If there are concerns about safety, please attempt to remedy with measures that will not make an already challenging hobby even more challenging or even inaccessible! It is a great hobby that builds critical skills that should be encouraged and cultivated to the largest extent possible!”
