“I’ve been around the flying field since I was a child but didn’t start flying until my early 20’s. I’m 40 now and I fly at a local park near my house since the nearest actually flying field is more than and hour drive. I fly mostly smaller park and sports fliers made from foam and some balsa models.(Horizion Hobby EFLITE and Park zone aircraft mostly.) These small sized brushless motored aircraft are restricted in flight distance and elevation because of line of sight. Any distance greater than 150-200ft away for my position results in a loss of orentation of the aircraft, so most flights occur well within this distance. If I’m forced to fly at a specific field or buy expensive electronics for each aircraft I would probably give up on the hobby that myself and many others have come to enjoy. I understand the need to regulate certain aspects of avation especially those that may actually interfere with private and commercial aircraft. However adding a burriden to individuals like myself would most likely destroy the hobby and keep it out of reach for so many others.”
