“Before I started flying fpv quadcopters, I had gone through a few hobbies, but never really found one that truly captivated me. I would spend a good amount of time getting into a hobby, just to fall out of it a few months later. When I found FPV, I thought I would fall out of it just as I had all my other hobbies, but as time went on, I started realizing that this was something different. I started out flying alone in a field, with the intent on capturing freestyle footage of my flying with an onboard HD camera, but after going to my first fpv race, I knew that that was what I wanted to pursue. The race brought a sense of community I had never felt before, I went from being alone in the hobby to being able to talk to people like me about the things we love. As soon as I had left the race, I already wanted to go to another. Two years later, I still have the same drive and motivation to race and fly, if not more than when I started, and could never see myself stopping. The proposed regulations pose an extreme threat to my biggest hobby and passion in life, and I truly hope that the people behind it can take stories like mine into account, and ensure that we, as a community of model builders and flyers, can continue pursuing our passions of flight, racing, and continue building an educated and empowering community.”
