“I fly with my kids in the backyard, around the neighborhood, and the wilderness area behind our house. My kids love learning about flight and all the tech that goes into recreational hobby flying. The FAA is apparently totally clueless about this whole sector of drone and rc aircraft use. The new regulations and rules will have a chilling effect on the hobby, put it out of reach for most, intimidate most from even considering it, and will push many completely out of the hobby, out of the thing they love doing. Hobby flying is already safe. There is absolutely no epidemic of rc flight safety issues around the nation. The FAA regulations are trying to solve a problem that isn’t there at the hobby level. It’s a shame that the federal government would, once again, steel away our freedoms due to corporate and commercial interests.”
