“I’ve been flying safely for over 40 years. Most of that flying is done at club flying fields. I fly fixed wing models that require line of sight. Line of sight flying of model aircraft has carried on safely and without the issues that surfaced with the introduction of drones and other autonomous “flying craft”. I understand safety concerns that drones with unrestricted operators and future commercial drones have caused. However, lumping all model aircraft, including fixed wing and helicopters that modelers have flown safely for years into the same category as these drones and other autonomous flying craft is completely unnecessary and frankly ridiculous! Please consider regulating the drones and autonomous craft that have become the issue of concern and leave the amateur modeler and model aircraft to the current safe laws that already exist and have worked safely for years!”
