“Model airplane flying has been a HUGE part of my life. As a child I was introduced to model aircraft. This interest eventually unfolded into a CAREER as a professional pilot. Today I captain a heavy business jet. None of this would have ever happened without the strong influence of model aviation. Now in the twilight of my career I look back at those days and understand the value of my experiences designing, building and flying model airplanes. I’m looking forward to returning to these roots once again when by days of flying the big jet is over. I hope the FAA doesn’t ruin my retirement dream for me because they simply don’t have an understanding of what our hobby is REALLY all about. It would be a shame.”
