“I started out model flying as a kid, moved on to full scale and currently run two general aviation maintenance shops as an A&P IA. I have not had a medical due to health issues and fly competition precision aerobatics to get my flying fix. My stable is filled wit 20+ Fixed wing models. The FAA got it all wrong. The hobby sector should have been set up like full scale, categories for fixed wing, rotary wing and multi rotor. The application of the word drone only applies to autonomous flying objects. That does not describe the learning curve and constant practice it takes to fly fixed and rotary wing aircraft without gyro stabilization.”
