“Building and flying model aircraft has been my passion for almost forty years. These regulations put the passion shared by hundreds of thousands of modelers at risk of extinction. I fly very expensive high end models which represent a large investment of time and money that could be lost forever. Requiring a pilot to register every aircraft is unnecessary if the intent is to ID the pilot. The current method of one number per pilot should suffice. If there are to be designated flying areas they should be unlimited in number with no deadline for formation. These regulations put a burden on modelers that will not improve safety in the least and there has been no risk analysis done to prove otherwise (retired Safety Specialist).”
