“I mainly fly self-built, cheap planes. I have flown with both of my children at local parks. I am mainly a park flyer. I am a member at an AMA club, but it is a 76 mile round trip to drive there. I’m concerned that poor regulation will make the hobby expensive and choke out available flying locations. This will restrict the hobby to only those rich enough to buy and fly expensively equipped planes, and will eliminate the smaller planes from the market. It will mean that self-built planes (like those designed by flite test) will become infeasible to fly. Please, regulators, do your best to support airplane hobbyists who have been flying safely in parks for nearly 80 years.”
