“I mostly fly on my own property. I live in a rural area where internet speeds are extremely slow and cell coverage is very spotty. I never fly above 300’ and enjoy building, programming and flying multi rotor and fixed wing aircraft. All of my larger aircraft are equipped with failsafes that return to home and land if the radio link goes out. Some of my smaller craft and race craft are greatly affected by weight, so adding additional equipment would make it impossible to get good performance out of them. I don’t fly beyond my property line and rarely fly beyond line of site. I’m all for requiring safety courses and registration numbers on models over a certain weight, but the current remote id rules would kill the hobby.”
