“I have been building and flying model airplanes for over 50 years. It is a hobby that has brought me much pleasure and camaraderie with other flyers. The clubs I have belonged to have worked with youth groups to promote the hobby and educate youth about aeronautics. I believe that doing this has had a positive impact. Many full scale pilots started out flying remote control aircraft. I believe that the remote ID requirements will have an extremely negative impact on the hobby. These restrictions could very well destroy our hobby. Furthermore, drones and fixed wing model airplanes are not the same thing and each should not be treated as such.”
