“I have flown off and on since I was a young man. I built model planes as long as I can remember. If you implement this proposal you will destroy the “want” to get involved in aviation. When you look at the people who started in model aviation, like Neil Armstrong who’s love of aviation got him all the way to the moon and back. I can’t help but wonder how many people will not become the leaders they could be,should be because they did not want to “deal with the headaches” That will stem from this proposal. How many will not get involved in this hobby because they barely have enough money to get a airplane let alone the added cost of what is being proposed. YOU WILL CRUSH THE SPIRIT OF MANY YOUNG PEOPLE who would otherwise grow up to become the next Neil Armstrong, invent the next jet airplane/jet engine that will revolutionize the way people travel through the air. The people who make these new innovations are people who stoked their enthusiasm in the model aviation.
