“When I was young, my father built an RC airplane and flew it at a local club. I watched him build and fly it while dreaming of the day that I could do the same. I have know finished building my first RC airplane but fear that I will never get the opportunity to fulfill my lifelong dream of actually flying it. I cannot afford club membership and recent (and proposed) regulations have made it almost impossible to find a legal fling field in my area. I have spent quite some time researching regulations, but this has only generated more questions then answers. As it stands, I am afraid to fly my new RC airplane for fear of violating some poorly understood regulation. I have flown model rockets four years and never had difficulty understanding the regulations governing them but the new regulations for RC airplanes is beyond me.”
