“Flying is something that I have always been interested in and wanted to do with my Father but never had the time to before he passed away. After he died I meant to get into it on my own, but mostly just built stuff and never flew. Recently a friend of mine expressed interest in flying and asked if I could build us airplanes. So now I’m building and flying and have friends around when doing both. It has been a life saver and a relaxing hobby that I’ll never give up. These new regulations would make sense if they said they were for fleets of commercial drones or for long range out of line of sight missions. But for a hobbyist flying low to the ground that try to stay away from people anyway, this just doesn’t make sense. The more restrictions are put on hobbyist flights, the more you have made us into outlaws and the more we will move to empty lots farther away from society so we don’t get hassled. We will not comply, on principle, and it wouldn’t make sense financially with how many scratch builds we have anyway and how “disposable” they are.”
