“I have been flying RC for 25 years. I fly at an AMA site which is part of a private airport. There has never been an issue with this relationship. The Full Scale pilots welcome our presence. The reason for this is simple. We all fly by the AMA rules and if anyone seems to be stepping out of line they are challenged immediately. You couldn’t ask for a more successful program. The FAA should use this as an example instead of trying to change it. I agree some renegade pilots do cause problems in the general public but they are not AMA members and are not following AMA rules and should be dealt with severely. Anyone with malicious intent is certainly not going to comply with any of the proposed regulations. Only the people who are following the rules are going to be punished with this proposal.”
