“Designing, building, and flying RC planes was one of my dad’s favorite hobbies. Naturally, my brothers and I followed suit and picked up a love for not only RC aviation, but STEM in general. When my dad had to stop working due to a brain tumor, one of the things we could do to cheer him up is take him and our plane out to the field behind our house and let him watch us fly and laugh when we crashed. These regulations would not only stifle interest and innovation in young people interested in STEM, it would have made it impossible for my family to share these special moments with my father before he passed. For this reason, I strongly oppose the new regulations.”
