“I studied for and passed the FAA test to be a remote pilot of a small unmanned aircraft system. This test required vast of knowledge of regulations, safety, weather, and airport restrictions. It wasn’t easy to pass, nor was it inexpensive. I enjoy flying drones over forest service, state land, wildlife management areas, and conservancy land for making videos and cinematic photography. I own a photography business and if I had to spend more money to comply with the new remote identification laws I would go bankrupt. Furthermore, I wouldn’t be able to fly where I currently do to make a living because I would be confined to designated areas. My hope is the FAA reconsiders passing this devasting regulation in support of a more reasonable regulation that wouldn’t put people out of business.”
