“I have been flying Radio Control (RC) aircraft since 1973. I also have a private pilot’s license and have 200 hours flying small single-engine aircraft (Cessna 172s and Diamond DA-20s, DA-40s).
In RC aircraft I have flown fuel-powered trainers, sport and pattern aircraft. Recently I have been flying RC electric helicopters, so-called drones (some with GPS flight controllers, some without GPS), and fixed-wing electrics.
I have never had any incidents involving full-size aircraft. My rule of thumb is to stay out of the way of full-sized aircraft and do not see the need for the FAA to implement so many rules.”
