“I’ve been flying for 30+ years. I’ve flown with parents, grandparents, my own kids, friends kids, and total strangers who have walked up. Everyone has an interest in flying model aircraft. Why would we limit this? Model aircraft has been a huge part of my life. I do not belong to a club, I’ve found they are too restricting. Flying is a personal experience meant best to share with small groups of people. It’s also something anyone can work on in their spare time, with limited resources. I’m concerned this will make the hobby too complicated causing two major things: The ease of entry is too steep, causing kids and adults not to take the hobby up. The second concern is no one will follow the rules – much like Ham tech license needed for FPV.. Nobody is following that, and why would they? Our president has banned the government from using DJI drones. He wants the gov’t to use american sourced drones. At this point, there are none, and won’t be any if the FAA creates so many hurdles that no one other than major aerospace companies ever does any experimentation. It’s it bad enough with video games and the lack of time kids spend outside. Ask the FAA – what would happen if there were sudden restrictions on basketball courts or baseball fields? Thank you for all the work you do for the hobby. I really appreciate it.”
