“I don’t think placing restrictions on this segment of the flight hobby will add any guarantee of safety. The majority of those in the hobby, already act as safe as their wallets can allow them to be. No one wants to lose their toys for any reason. I have been interested in the hobby since I was a kid. I built multiple models as a kid, but never flew some of them due to the fear of destroying something I spent so much time on. It wasn’t until I was in my 20s that FliteTest and others showed that it was possible to get into the hobby without risking crashing the model I spent so much time building. Since then I have learned how to fly, joined an AMA club, built a few more planes and quads. I love all parts of the hobby. From the electronics to the working with wood. Its the only way aviation is affordable to the majority of us. It teaches so much more than aviation.”
