“I’m a dad of a six year old who is very excited about the hobby. As he gets older, he’s more and more interested in spending time with his friends instead of me, but this is one area where our passions overlap and we can’t get enough. This is a great bonding time for us as father and son, but teaching a child to fly means an endless stream lost and damaged planes. (I guess it means that even when I’m flying alone!) We don’t have a lot of money to devote to this so we don’t belong to any club, we fly in any safe open area that we can find and we keep our planes as cheap as possible. It’s a wonderful experience flying with my son and I’m concerned that these new regulations are going to put a big damper on our ability to continue in the hobby.”
