“The value of model aeronautics is not just to allow people to fly RC aircrafts, it teaches people to design and build aircraft; it involves electronics, mechanics, computing, programming and other disciplines STEM programs that use the thrill of flight as an incentive to teach core technology skills to children will be stifled. · Law enforcement and other governmental organizations that rely on highly skilled hobbyists to stay on the cutting edge of drone development will lose that resource. Providing for the future of commercial drone flights does not require the elimination of recreational RC pilots from enjoying their hobby or from discovering innovative techniques for aeronautics. · The proposed rules take the core of model aviation designing and building away from individuals and the value that will be lost if these rules are implemented, as currently written, is immense.”
