“I compete in FPV quadcopter racing twice per week. Our club has a field at which we fly, plus we setup tracks at other locations from time to time. All my racing quads are home built from individual parts – frames, motors, flight controllers, ESC, VTX, receiver etc. Even though I am in New Zealand, I am concerned that the proposed regulations will severely curtail the FPV industry, making parts harder to get and more expensive. If custom built quadcopters become effectively outlawed in the US, there will be less investment in R&D of quadcopter components and innovation will slow. Further, there is a real danger other countries may follow the US and implement similar regulations.”
