“I am an electrical engineer who at least was interested in RC planes (I built a few from foam boards) but have currently completely left the RC plane/flight hobby because of regulation concerns. My intentions were to apply my education to a new field and personal research. Because of the changes, I have currently moved to working towards ground and watercraft instead; as I am both unable to and unwilling to re-certify every test craft and get a new ID issued for each small aircraft that I fly (especially, since I was flying/testing on our families farm with literally nobody around to get hurt). The current regulations would stifle innovation, and particularly hurt those who attempt responsible design and testing, as now it adds unnecessary bureaucracy to the process.”
