“I’ve been flying and building remote control aircraft since 1983. Most recently, my flying locations are close to my home in Portland, Oregon. Due to my work schedule, I haven’t joined any local club, besides the only one I know of is too far to use.
My flying would be severely burdened if Remote ID and Network connection regulations are instituted. The FAA should offer exclusions for recreational model aircraft flown within line of sight. If I were required to use a FRIA location, I would probably no longer fly RC aircraft. I would support pilot registration, but believe registering each aircraft would be cost prohibitive for many people and be a huge burden to the FAA. The new proposals are a huge undertaking that affects hobbyist greatly.”
