“I have enjoyed RC soaring since my teenage years back in the 1970’s. I currently fly RC gliders and travel up to 500 miles to contests. They are all flown line of site, with either a bungee or winch launch, or a limited electric motor run controlled by a motor shut off device. The recreational hobbyists, flying line of sight have not, and do not now, pose any safety hazard to commercial aviation. There is no safety issue being corrected by these draconian measures being taken, and will only serve to harm the hobby, STEM programs, charity/fund raising events, and threatens the lively hood of those who in the RC hobby industry.”
