“The sole reason I take part in this hobby is because I can’t afford to fly General aviation aircraft. And model aviation has integrated very well with our national airspace. My general aviation club hosted a RC flying event this past year at a local grass strip, and general aviation aircraft were also present. No issues of safety due to the fact that we all communicated via radio and ground signals. So safety is not a concern in my eyes. Personally, this hobby has brought me to the highest point of my life. I never did much to impress my father in my school years, Straight A’s, Sports, Band, etc. But he flew back in the 80’s. And since I started flying, and teaching him how to fly again, our relationship has been stronger than ever. This hobby has changed my life for the better, as it has for many out in the world who could never think of flying general aviation.”
