“I mostly fly whoops (sub 100g quadcopters) indoors, but have an interest in sub-250g outdoor flying as well. The proposed regulations strike me as more of a grab by industry interested drone business opportunities at the expense of hobbyists. I think restrictions on maximum height, proximity to people and buildings, and existing no-fly rules around airports are reasonable to have. Hobby flying of small aircraft on personal property and public land, under a maximum height and a safe distance from people and private property should not be unilaterally prohibited. Commercial operations and flights approaching protected airspace should have more strict requirements. Bad actors that enter protected airspace (Airports, utilities, etc.) without pre-approval and/or aircraft identification features should have their aircraft destroyed or confiscated and the pilot fined, I think that would be reasonable.”
