“Flying small remotely operated SUAV and airplanes is a great hobby for young and old, with a proven track record of safety. The reaction of the FAA seems to be for extremely invasive regulation of an essentially harmless community of hobbyists in reaction to a very, very, small number of bad actors. I would recommend that the FAA contact some of the prominent advocates of RC aircraft, as seen on Youtube for instance, and go out and spend some time flying, fixing, and repairing with them before they start wholesale regulation of a hobby that does not need it.”
