“RC aircraft lead to my career as an aerospace engineer and my passion for home built aircraft. Radio control aircraft in all its forms is the greatest recruitment tool for young people to get into aviation since the race for the moon. Young eagles events while good for those already interested in aviation with finical means ends up being a deturrant to those who are new with limited funds, I.e. the majority. In the end, the FAA’s agenda over the last decade keeps new people from getting into aviation for pilots, engineers and factory workers. The aviation industry in the USA is in desperate need for new people to replace all the people retiring. I would recommend United heavy lobbying by industry and groups in DC as a more effective strategy to promote change and the people’s voice being heard.”
