“I am an amateur pilot flying at my club airfield which has its own code of conduct and safety regulations which meet the civil aviation requirements for this class of flight. Those of us who attend our local clubs and who are members and also have insurance included as part of our membership are not the issue or cause of events that have prompted these regulations. Those people who are not keen to pursue this hobby or join a local club will invariably remain an issue and as such these regulations will not have any impact in preventing issues from occurring and will ONLY be retrospective for them if they are caught. However the majority of flyers who are safe flyers will be punitively affected for doing the right thing in the first place. So the real target of any regulations will not be affected or controlled.”
