“I have been flying RC and FPV for about 5 years now. For the last 2 years I have owned a small FPV wing manufacturing company. I am a very small , one-man shop and would never be able to meet the requirements of a manufacturer if the proposed rules were to go into effect. I would be out of business. From a personal perspective, I have wanted to be a pilot my whole life. My father was a commercial pilot and my younger daughter is currently 60 hrs into her PPL. I have never been able to fly in small aircraft due to extreme motion sickness. Flying FPV is the closest I will ever get to fulfilling my dream. I have an engineering background but since I started building and flying FPV quads and wings I have learned more about electronics, aerodynamics and material science then I ever did in engineering school or 28 years as an engineer. The STEM education of RC Flight alone should be reason to preserve this great hobby. The list of great pilots, astronauts and technology entrepreneurs that have enjoyed and benefited from this hobby is long and distinguished. Should these rules be enacted as proposed it would surely leave a large hole in my heart.”
