“I have been involved with model aviation for my whole life…from the age of five until the present. I started flying with my grandfather and father, and my daughter flew with me when she was old enough. Model aviation showed her that girls can do technical stuff too. She’s now a very successful chemical engineer. I have participated in various forms of model aviation competetion and for the last twelve years have been active in precision aerobatics. I currently own three precision aerobatic craft, two of them valued at over $3000. The proposed regulations would render them illegal. I currently travel all over the midwest to compete, usually about eight weekends per summer. Model aviation is a big part of my life. I feel like these regulations would steal the sky from ordinary people and give it to big companies like Amazon.”
