“I’m currently 41 years old. Have been doing RC cars since I was 14 years old and flying FPV for five years. This hobby has taught me valuable hands on maintenance, design, troubleshooting and technical skills that I wouldn’t have gotten anywhere else. This hobby is what occupies most my free time. It’s helped me make valuable friends. It’s also helped to inspire me and help through tough times in my life. I would say that 9 out of every ten strangers I meet love FPV when seeing it for the first time. I’ve has swarms of kids around me watching my scepters all a gasp while their parents look on. I don’t know what I’d do without it. Also, I’ve never hurt a single soul or caused damage to anything but my own RC vehicles during my entire time in RC. I’m proud of that safety record. In my opinion sufficient laws already exist to protect privacy, people and property therefore these regulations are completely unnecessary for existing use cases. This kind of regulation does however make sense in the context of commercial autonomous flights over public spaces, which is unproven and risky territory and therefore requires special control since no human will be directly controlling these craft which, due to their size, also present a kinetic energy risk to things on the ground were they to crash.”
