“Modeling hooked me on aviation, and led me to a fantastic career as an operational, then functional test and evaluation KC-135 pilot in the USAF. Upon my retirement I went back to school to get my education certificate in K-6th grade, and I currently run aviation related STEM programs at my local elementary school – using model aircraft. The new regulation will effectively end these programs – and with it we will lose the opportunity to hook kids on flying – just as I was hooked when I was a kid. I sure hope the FAA gives a little thought to the problems these new regulations will cause for my STEM program and all the others like it.”
