“The fellowship and social togetherness this hobby has afforded me is beyond words that I can write here. I have been building and flying for nearly 20yrs and an AMA member for most of those too. This hobby has re bonded me to friends and family, my son in particular. Some of our best times are us flying quads FPV on my land in the mountains of VA. The time we spend together flying and building brings us closer together. We are both safety conscious and respectful of surrounding areas and others property, even though our closest neighbor is almost 1/2 mile away. I do belong to a proper AMA club but it is almost 40min away from where I live so we mostly fly on my property. We build light and cheap because we can’t afford expensive parts or pr-built planes/quads. I could never think of another hobby that could occupy my time and be as rewarding as this one.”
