“I build my own flying models of all types. Some of my models last for years but many are broken and or cannibalized to build new models after only a few short flights. The proposed regulations would stop me in the hobby I have been passionate about for 30 years. I never operate near airstrips and I rarely operate more than 200-300 feet high so pose no threat to manned aircraft that are themselves obeying the rules. Model aircraft (all types, fixed wing or multicopters) should not be lumped in with the shop bought camera drones from companies like DJI. Basically if you have to actively fly it then you know what you are doing. If you let go of the sticks and watch it fly off by itself under GPS control with no level of skill required then it needs regulation.”
