“I built balsa models as a teenager. This in part led me to my career in radio and telecommunications. My elder brother became a licenced aircraft maintenance engineer (Air New Zealand). When my children were growing up, we (as a family) spent many useful hours in the outdoors enjoying this hobby. Much of this time in the local park, 3 doors down our street. My children have developed into productive, loving, individuals who are active in the community. My youngest is completing a masters degree in Industrial Design. I am fearful that without this hobby numerous experiences and opportunities will cease to exist.”
