“I have been flying for over 25 years. I have built numerous planes, and have flown in parks, public areas, and at clubs. There is such a difference between what might be needed by commercial drones, and what is used for recreational flying. We love to fly drones in a park during the day, or at dusk. We don’t fly planes unless we have safe spaces in order to fly. But AMA has provided a very safe environment, and wants to work with the FAA with their rules and regulations. But they have to work for the model aircraft hobby. You can’t have a one size fits all set of rules for everyone. I don’t know what the best solution is. But I do know that AMA is willing to work with FAA and Congress to find a solution to the existing issues and concerns. It seems like the FAA is creating solutions for something that isn’t a problem, but will cause serious and disastrous consequences for the model aircraft hobby, especially for younger flyers now, and into the future. Give model aviation the opportunity to work with you to find the solutions for problems in the future, and allow our hobby to continue to flourish. Thank you very much. Mike Mueller. Syracuse, NY”
