“All of my flying of models is line of sight and close to the field or lake. It is important that we are able to keep and develop safe flying sites for this purpose. There is no need to impose the burden of remote ID’s for this type of flying My sons experience with model airplanes had an enormous effect on their professional career choices and education. One is now an FAA air traffic controller at SEA. At the same time, I am a private pilot and I understand the concerns of unidentified FPV drones in the airspace. I have seen them while flying. Anyone operating drones like this needs to be educated on safety and airspace regulations and I can see the benefits of remote ID. However, Line of Sight at an airfield is completely different and these regulations would be too burdensome and disadvantageous to the hobby.”
