Airplane mechanic, avionics technician. Aircraft owner. As written, the proposed regulation would do nothing to enhance safety or to bolster national security. It would, however, turn large swathes of the modeling community into criminals as they would be faced with the choice of fly illegally or give up the hobby. For those of us who live where cell-phone coverage is spotty and club flying fields are a long drive away, it would not be possible to operate legally under the new rule.”
