“I am a commercial-rated fixed-wing (part 61) pilot as well as a hobbyist remote pilot who flies primarily FPV quadcopters, but also fixed-wing model aircraft. I have not been able to afford the financial burden of maintaining currency in full-scale aviation, and have discovered the hobby of model/FPV flying over the past few years. I have discovered a community of innovative, creative people who support each other and their larger communities, and it has become a passionate pursuit for me. I would welcome common-sense-based regulation that truly balances different users of the airspace, but the proposed regulation balances nothing: it almost entirely removes the right of recreational users to fly the aircraft of their choice in locations where they have previously done so safely.”
