“It makes sense that pilots be responsible and accountable. The AMA has members who by and large are outstanding citizens and committed hobbists. Continuing education thru the association will ensure that basic RC pilots present no issues for the safety and security of others. I do feel that with the advancement of technology that aircraft being flown beyond line of sight need to be controlled differently than traditional hobby fliers. I am recently retired and have long looked forward to reaching this point where I have the time and money to build and fly my own airplanes. I mainly build from scratch self propelled balsa sailplanes. I also enjoy teaching neighborhood youngsters about my hobby.”
